CLARIFYING TERMS
In examining the macro environment, we believe that collaboration and partnerships through cooperative agreements are the most productive way forward.
Collaboration: An adaptable working relationship to accomplish a common goal. It fosters teamwork through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) or Fiscal Sponsorships.
Partnerships: More formal relationships with shared interests, goals, responsibilities, and rewards. These require long-term commitments, contractual agreements, shared ownership, and more involved authority-based decisions.
Culture- “An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior. The outlook, attitudes, values, morals, goals, and customs shared by a society or group” (Cultural Anthropology, McGraw Hill, 1990). Culture also encompasses community, arts, and rituals
The Arts- Visual arts, music, theater, dance and literature, design, and film. Forms including but not limited to: crafts, sculpting, pottery, cultural/traditional, street art, public art, performance, culinary, and fashion
