Welcome to the ArtsGreensboro Task Force Web Portal!
Our goal is to gather input about our grant programs from multiple perspectives to ascertain if we are fostering expanded access to the arts in Greensboro and the greater Guilford County area. We know that the social, demographic, political, and philanthropic landscape is rapidly changing, and ArtsGreensboro must continually strive to reach new artists and arts organizations, presenters, communities, and art forms.
ArtsGreensboro must assure our stakeholders, donors, and community that the process by which we make grants reflect our beliefs and benefit any who wish to engage in the arts. The Creative Greensboro Cultural Arts Masterplan and research conducted by national foundations and funders are roadmaps to this work. ArtsGreensboro believes it must support the goals of inclusion, access, and cultural equity need to be reflected in our grant programs.
The questions we will be asking ourselves and the Task Force are:
1. How are we doing?
2. What would an optimal grant program look like for ArtsGreensboro?
3. What are the best practices at the national level?
4. Are we positioning ourselves for the future?
The work of the Task Force is critical to the success of ArtsGreensboro, and our future strategic planning. We know improving our impact through critical review is vital to keeping our services current, relevant and effective . The outcome of your work will be a set of recommendations to be presented to the board. Over the summer, we may host community meetings to solicit additional input into the four questions noted above, as we continue to assess and align our programs with core principles of access, inclusion, equity, and financial stewardship and accountability.
Under each resource, you will find "Discovery Questions." Please reflect on the questions and share your thoughts when we meet. We ask that you step into your professional bravery and professional vulnerability as we will discuss topics that may be difficult and dense. The essence of our exploration is the core of why most of our organization exist; to strengthen the art community for present and future generations.
All meetings will be held at the Lincoln Financial Downtown Greensboro Location
